BIOGRAPHY


Mignon Parker is a Sydney based artist living and working from her Northern Beaches home and studio.

 

Mignon's foray into the art world began at the North Sydney Technical College after which she went on to attend the National Art School's Diploma of Design before being offered employment in the advertising industry in Sydney.

During her career in the arts Mignon has remained a prolific artist, submitting work for mass media publiations, teaching and conducting workshops at well established schools such as the Northbridge School of Arts, Art East School of Art at Leichhardt, Grafton Artsfest, Art in Action, Mitchell School of Creative Arts at the Charles Sturt University in Bathurst, McGregor Schools University of Southern Queensland in Toowoomba, Bribie Island Artfest and many other workshops state wide.

 

Mignon's work is not limited to one style, rather a unique and diverse ride through many different styles and techniques.  Her love of flowers and the figure are reflected in the work she presents.  Mignon works in a diverse range of media such as watercolour, acrylic, oil, rust oxidisation, patinas and encaustic.  Inspired by nature her passion is colour and texture and her work continues to evolve and engage the viewer with new images.

 

Mignon has participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions and is represented in various galleries and private and corporate collections in England, Europe, New Zealand and Australia.
